Champions RBL lost their 100% record this evening as Kingussie held them to a 1-1 draw. Aviemore Thistle however maintained their spectacular return to form with a crushing 6-1 win over Tomatin Utd to see them now only 1 point off the Blues at the foot of the League table.

Kingussie took another step closer to a grand-slam of all the cup competitions tonight with a second half penalty securing a narrow 1-0 win over Aviemore Thistle in the Capaldi Cup Final.

RBL AVIEMORE - LEAGUE CHAMPIONS 2009
Due to this particular webmaster's inability to do his sums properly, we can now officially announce that RBL Aviemore are 2009 SBWFA League champions! Following Tuesday's game, their 11 point lead cannot now be caught as only 3 League games are left for the season.
We therefore apologise and congratulate the Legion on their historic first ever title win!

RBL Aviemore took a giant stride toward their first ever League title win with a crushing 6-1 win over nearest rivals Kingussie. They now only need 2 points from their remaining 3 games to be crowned champions.
At the other end of the table Aviemore Thistle stunned Tomatin Utd with a 5-2 win to secure their first points of the season. However their fine win was marred somewhat by a triple sending off for Jim Halloran.

It was Capaldi Cup business tonight for the SBWFA and hosts Kingussie secured their 3rd successive cup final appearance with a 3-2 extra time win in Aviemore over RBL.
Meanwhile Aviemore Thistle made it through to their first final of the season in a penalty shoot-out with Tomatin Utd. The game ended 2-2 after extra time with the Jags triumphing 4-2 from the spot.

Last night's Aviemore derby ended in a 7-2 win for RBL which, given Kingussie's result, extends their lead at the top to 8 points with only a maximum of 12 left to play for. Is the title Legion-bound for the first time ever?
Can the Kings catch-up, or are Tomatin Utd the proverbial dark horses as they quietly steal up the League table? It's going to be a dramatic League run-in, that's for sure!
